Description:

Rice Companies is looking to for a Production Manager to the team at our Fargo, ND location! The Production Manager oversees the entire production process, helping to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role focuses on managing self-performing field personnel, coordinating resources, and ensuring safety and efficiency across all operations. The Production Manager will work closely with the field leadership, project managers, and other internal team members to deliver successful projects while promoting a strong safety culture and fostering a positive work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and assign labor resources across projects, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet workload demands.
  • Manage and coordinate the self-performing trades and field personnel, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and meet project schedules.
  • Monitor field productivity, implementing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce downtime, while maintaining work quality
  • Ensure that work performed by field teams meets company and industry quality standards, conducting regular site inspections and audits.
  • Compliance with all safety regulations, conducting regular safety audits, and addressing potential hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Supports employee performance management, discipline, termination, and hiring activities.
  • Lead the development and training of field personnel to enhance skillsets and ensure work is performed to high standards.
  • Quickly identify and address operational challenges, including resource shortages or unexpected issues on-site, to keep field activities moving efficiently.
  • Track, maintain, and inventory all location equipment, including conducting yearly equipment audits.
  • Oversee the logistics of materials, tools, and equipment for field operations, ensuring that resources are available and properly maintained.

Qualifications:
Include, but are not limited to:
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in field operations within commercial construction
  • Strong background in managing self-performing trades and field operations in a construction environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate field teams in a high-pressure, fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Procore, and other relevant project management or resource planning programs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot field challenges and implement practical solutions to keep projects on track
  • Certification in OSHA 30-Hour or other safety training programs preferred.
  • Ability to regularly visit job sites, which may involve standing, walking, and navigating rough terrain.
  • Occasional lifting of over 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as required.
