About the teamThe Government Relations (GR) team operates at the intersection of policy, industry, and product to enable Zillow to deliver an easier, end-to-end real estate experience for our customers and partners.GR engages with policymakers, regulators, non-profit partners, and real estate industry associations to help protect and grow Zillow's business. As a member of Zillow's GR team, you'll be part of a diverse, nationally distributed government relations team, working across all levels of government, regions, product areas, and technology and real estate.About the roleWe are looking for a leader to lead our public affairs efforts, creating and managing national and multi-state initiatives that cultivate and engage partners around economic development, community engagement, and strategic business priorities.Collaborating with myriad teams across the business, including government relations, communications, economic research, industry, and social impact, this role will develop strategies and lead engagement with government and business leaders, market influencers, and strategic partners.The primary driver for this position is around consumer advocacy, and will build a pipeline of opportunities to enable positive relations within and around tech, build coalitions that support advocacy priorities, and promote equity in housing.Key to the role's success is to facilitate dialogue with community relevant partners across the country and in DC as we drive towards innovative solutions for systemic change in housing and tech policy.This role requires extensive cross-group collaboration along with exceptional strategic planning, critical thinking, communication, partnership and brokering skills.What you'll doTranslate strategy into action and work directly with external field teams, economic research, communications, and social impact to ideate, envision, and ultimately lead the group to deliver digital transformation solutions for communities throughout the priority markets.Develop nuanced messaging and storytelling communications that enhance the company's reputation and increase alignment with government, education, and industry partners.Develop strategic partnerships to help ensure responsible growth of the business, integrated with relevant community and civic partners, that support our advocacy objectives in priority markets.Facilitate achievement of the company's policy priorities, and engagement strategies. Effective execution includes leadership to facilitate partnerships that increase share of voice, and drive market growth.Provide a national strategy framework for high profile forums, panels, and third party convenings, as well as partner with other external teams on company activations.Monitor the status of pertinent housing, tech, and finance trends and provide recommendations to Government Relations, Comms and Industry teams that protect and further Zillow's ability to advance our mission showcasing responsibility and equity.Partnering with social impact, help develop creative pathways to drive access and opportunity within tech/housing in new public spaces.Develop and implement thought-leadership strategies that communicate and advocate for positive change in real estate, tech, and finance.Proactively identify, define, and champion new opportunities to build our reputation, mitigate risk in areas where there are political challenges, and engage with the community to promote equity and fair housing.Strategize and lead engagement on external boards, commissions and committees with relevant partners.Work closely with our executive team and engage with them on various government relations efforts impacting the business.Build and maintain relationships with government leaders, policymakers, regulators, non-profit partners, and influencers.This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company.U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $192, $307,500.00 Annually.This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.Who you areThis role will simultaneously handle several high-stakes projects at any given time, so the ideal candidate will to possess project management skills and be organized.We are looking for a self-starting, versatile problem solver who can build and implement an effective public affairs strategy in a dynamic environment; knowing when to be flexible and pivot strategy versus staying the course and being a steady constant will be important.Bachelor's degree and minimum of 10 years experience government and community relations, corporate-wide campaigns, storytelling, and strategy development.
