Description

The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for assisting the Branch Manager with all necessary administration of company issues in accordance with company values, company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Position Objectives: The Assistant Branch Manager plays a key role in the success of the overall branch operations and partners with the Branch Manager to ensure all company standards are met. They direct, coordinate, and monitor branch operations including warehouse logistics, facility maintenance, training, and exceptional customer service.

Technical/Professional Skills & Knowledge

  • Has a solid understanding of sales, purchasing, inventory, operations, and warehouse logistics.
  • Practices and models exceptional customer service.
  • Partners with the Branch Manager to oversee warehouse logistics, team processes, and customer relations.
  • Able to aid outside sales and customer service to an elite level.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities delegated by the Branch Manager delegated. Comply with the policies and guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Thinks strategically and can improve the functionality of the branch.
  • Executes all tasks in compliance with established safety standards, and strictly adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Preferred expert level knowledge of CSD and Bid Prep functions. *

Delegating Responsibility & Follow-Up
  • Partners with the Branch Manager to assist in the delegation of task responsibility in appropriate areas to trusted individuals.
  • Problem solves issues on the day-to-day operation for better continuity with our collective customer.

Planning & Organizing
  • Establishes goals in line with company goals and values.
  • Determines project or assignment requirements by breaking down into tasks and identifying types of equipment, materials, and people needed.
  • Works with the sales manager on goals and needs for the location.
  • Branch Manager and Sales Manager relationship is a partnership working together with the outside sales personnel for their locations.
  • Understands the needs of our collective customer for inventory, operations and communication for a better working relationship for all.

Decision-Making & Strategic Decision
  • Makes decisions that will help all areas of the branch improve and thrive.
  • Can manage daily operations in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  • Can make on-the-fly decisions without the need to get other leadership involved.

Coaching & Developing Others
  • Take initiative with new hire training (CSD, Bid Prep, Customer Service, Day-to-Day role operations)
  • Create a learning environment by securing resources required to support development efforts.
  • Works with each employee to coach on personal goals to position them for the next steps in that employee's career.
  • Encourages a healthy team environment and treats people with fairness and respect.
