Duties:
Sort dirty linens daily for washing process ensuring that machine load minimums are met before washing.
Remove stains from badly soiled linen by following proper reclaim process. Permanently remove from circulation any linen or terry that cannot be properly reclaimed.
Operates washers and dryers properly
Fold all linens per hotel standards.
Washes banquet and kitchen laundry, if applicable.
Washes bedspreads, bed pads and blankets as specified by manufacturer and per brand standards
Keeps laundry area clean and organized
Handles all laundry chemical products properly and per OSHA standards referring to the appropriate SDS sheet for proper handling. Advise Housekeeping Manager of laundry chemical inventory levels.
Assist the housekeeping department in other areas when laundry is slow or work is caught up.
Follow all safety and security related guidelines, policies and practices as required by S & L Hospitality and/or the brand. Participate in any safety related training programs throughout the year (i.e. HazCom, Blood Borne Pathogens, Emergency Evacuation, etc.) as required by S & L Hospitality's Human Resources & Benefits Director or the brand.
Any other assignments or tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
Qualifications:
Previous hotel laundry experience preferred
Ability to work well under limited supervision
Ability to work well with others
Strong work ethic
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. of laundry often
Ability to bend at the waist
Ability to reach over head
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive motions
