General Hotel Maintenance (Custodial)

Description:

The Holiday Inn in Fargo, ND., is currently accepting applications for a Custodial Maintenance position at the hotel. Hotel Maintenance Custodians are an integral part of our Maintenance Team as they are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel's premises. As a result, guests are provided with a safe and comfortable environment to enjoy their stay in. Furthermore, hotel maintenance custodians are also responsible for minor repairs and maintenance, including basic plumbing and room calls, which can help address any potential guest issues quickly. Ideal candidates will hands-on light maintenance or repair experience, are self-motivated, able to work independently, and work as there are business demands including 1st shift, 2nd shift, weekends and holidays. Key Requirements/ Qualifications:Ability to work with little supervision, is detail orientated and able to remain focused.Ability to stand for long period of time and perform repetitive motions.Ability to push/pull/bend/lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 10 lbs.frequently.Previous experience with building maintenance and working knowledge of heating/cooling and plumbing is preferred.Ability to maintain a composed, approachable and professional attitude.Minimum education of a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent preferred.Ability to maintain and follow property and Brand safety guidelines.Responsibilities:Maintain an organized maintenance workshop and storerooms.Respond to maintenance requests with positive attitude, must be flexible as business demands may alter your assignments.Become familiar and knowledgeable with hotel's safety policies and emergency procedures.Work closely with other departments to ensure prompt repairs.May be required to assist with snow removal, basic landscaping or assisting in other departments such as removing trash, arranging furniture, etc.Inspect, repair and replace damaged or warn items such as heating/cooling units, dry wall, light fixtures or plumbing.May be involved in cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, lobbies and other common areas.The ability to participate and in on-the-job training including understanding the use of equipment and chemicals.This position is subject to a background check related to the responsibilities of the role.
