Office Location: Fargo, ND

The Human Resource Generalist supports the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. This role is key to delivering a positive employee experience and ensuring HR processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Essential Tasks and Duties:

  • Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing needs, develop, and update job descriptions.
  • Source qualified candidates using job boards, networking events, social media, and other creative channels.
  • Review applications, conduct initial screening interviews, and coordinate interview logistics with hiring managers.
  • Manage the background and reference check process.
  • Lead a welcoming and engaging onboarding experience for all new hires.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and assist with HR documentation and compliance.
  • Support benefits administration, including new hire enrollments and open enrollment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, and initiatives that support a positive work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or equivalent HR certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience, with a strong focus on recruiting and onboarding.
  • Proficient in HR systems, applicant tracking software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a professional, approachable, and supportive communication style.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
  • Patient, compassionate, and skilled at building positive relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a prerequisite.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to operate a computer under normal ergonomic office conditions.
  • Must work scheduled and required hours.
