Structures Scheduler/Field Engineer

The Structures Scheduler/Field Engineer will assist the Superintendent, engineering staff, and Project Construction Manager in managing all aspects of a construction project, including field operations and project administration. This position is predominantly based in the field.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with pre-construction activities such as construction planning, design, and interpretation of design and drawings.
  2. Understand specifications, drawings, standards, and scope of work for subcontractors and suppliers.
  3. Communicate and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
  4. Interpret specifications, designs, and drawings; prepare quantity takeoffs.
  5. Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
  6. Verify work-in-place quantities for invoicing and pay quantities.
  7. Maintain submittal logs and ensure timely receipt and review of submittals and shop drawings.
  8. Ensure craft time cards are accurately completed; verify cost codes for purchases, time cards, contracts, and equipment time.
  9. Maintain as-built drawings; update RFI, bulletin, and ASI logs as appropriate.
  10. Participate in constructability reviews and value engineering.
  11. Develop and implement project engineering procedures and track documentation.
  12. Take weekly photographs of the jobsite.
  13. Collaborate with the Safety Department to maintain safety records.
  14. Assist in quality control activities.
  15. Prepare project status reports and participate in meetings; assist in developing meeting minutes.
  16. Support project close-out activities.
  17. Assist with estimates as needed.
  18. Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  19. Require knowledge and experience with MS-Project and Primavera P6 for at least 2 years.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience; 4-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.
  • 02 years of field construction experience.
  • E.I.T. certification preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6.0.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office products.
  • CAD experience, particularly with AutoCAD, is preferred.
  • Experience with document control software such as Procore or Fieldwire is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relocate to Fargo.
  • Physical ability to lift, stand, walk, use hands, and carry items.
