Hardware Product Validation (PV) Engineer

Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and format test requirements from internal and external customers with assistance from others. Review and provide proper feedback about the requirements to stakeholders or cross functional design teams.
  • Create Hardware Test Plans, with assistance from others, based on product requirements, test standards, and testing best practices.
  • Perform and oversee, with assistance, the performance of Product Verification and Validation testing performed internally or externally and troubleshooting problems associated with testing.
  • Maintain accurate and up to documentation of testing results and up to date schedules of current and future testing, communicating results and schedule progress to stakeholders.
  • Review test results, draw conclusions, and compose technical reports based on findings and results of testing.
Requirements:
  • BSEE or BS Electrical engineering / Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 2-5 years product testing of electronics or product development experience.
  • 2-5 years project management experience.
  • 2-5 years' work experience in a team environment.
  • 2-5 years' experience with data acquisition and validation tools.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills (English).
  • Understanding of product development phases.
Skills:
  • Experience with product testing or design of ruggedized electronics.
  • Experience working with VC-B1 or VC-B2 voltage levels.
  • Experience with development and debugging tools (e.g. oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.).
  • Knowledge of reliability planning for electronic assemblies.
  • Experience with basic electronics hardware and systems (i.e. Op Amp, FET's, Transistors, A/D converters, serial and parallel interfaces, etc.).
  • Experience in LabVIEW or other NI programming languages.
  • Experience with communication networks (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, RS-232/485, etc.).
  • Experience with communication protocols (e.g. J1939, ISO11783, TCP/IP, etc.).
  • Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited test lab.
  • BSEE or BS Electrical engineering / Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
