Department Details

Oversee Health Information Management (HIM) operations across one or more regions. Responsibilities include records management, transcription, document imaging, chart completion, provider support, customer service, archive management, regulatory and accreditation compliance, and health data management across healthcare settings. Responsible for legal medical records and monitoring departmental performance against profit/loss, market share, and operational targets.

Job Description

Manage department expenditures with limited financial liability. Lead both remote and on-site teams. Represent HIM on regional committees and work groups. Support enterprise-wide HIM operational standardization and integration. Ensure efficient service delivery aligned with nationally recognized guidelines. Provide leadership, technical expertise, and oversee staffing, budgets, service quality, and employee satisfaction. Develop large-scale initiatives and monitor performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in health information management; Masters degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressive management experience in health information management.
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); Certified Coding Specialist highly preferred.
