Mainframe DB2 ZOS Database Administrator

This position will be part of the Enterprise Services team, which delivers a full suite of services to state agencies, boards, councils, and commissions, and many central services to local government partners. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will serve as a member of the Enterprise Database Services Team, the function of which is to provide database administration services to various state agencies and to internal MNIT applications. The job calls for a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator with significant verifiable technical knowledge, skills, and abilities to support for various database environments, including those implemented on mainframe, cloud, and Linux, Unix, Windows (LUW). The position must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to work independently, but also the abilities and mindset to function effectively as part of a highly skilled team. This is a remote worker position, where the employees home address shall serve as their official work location and must be located within the continental United States. Remote work is a condition of employment.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

• Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of IT related experience in database administration.
• Experience must include: z/OS mainframe, Db2 DBA on z/OS (mainframe) version 11, 12, or 13, scripting, ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties, customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
• A master's degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the following:

• Supporting Database in Mainframe, cloud environment including AWS or Azure.
• z/OS System Programming experience supporting Database.
• Database & SQL Tuning.
• DB2 driver, JDBC, distributed tools support.
• Physical Database Design - OLTP, OLAP.
• Encryption.
• ETL (Extract / Transform / Load).
