Job Summary

The Wound Care Nursing Supervisor plays a vital role in overseeing the wound care service area, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care while interacting effectively with health system departments, medical staff, and patients/families. This position involves:

  • Scheduling nursing staff efficiently and based on historical utilization trends.
  • Managing resources and operations in line with organizational goals and strategies.
  • Implementing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, and document patient care outcomes.
  • Collaborating with inter-professional colleagues to ensure effective patient care throughout the wound care service.

You will demonstrate nursing excellence through the following:

  • Providing leadership and serving as a role model, motivating others toward vision and change.
  • Facilitating hiring, selection, retention, and performance appraisal in the unit.
  • Coaching and mentoring staff, while promoting a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Meeting and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Utilize quality management methods to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Monitor data and assist in operational improvements.
  • Maintain current certifications and actively participate in ongoing education.
  • Serve on committees and assist with various organizational projects as needed.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field is required, with a Master's degree preferred. Experience in a wound care setting is advantageous. Strong knowledge of clinical practices, pressure injuries, strategic planning, and financial principles is beneficial. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

All employees must maintain required certifications/licensure.
