Cass Human Service Zone - Fargo, ND - Eligibility Support Specialist
The Eligibility Support Specialist assists the Economic Assistance team through administrative, programmatic, and client support. This position works with programs including Health Care Coverage, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP), Child Care Assistance, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and General Assistance.
Program training is provided for this position.
Eligibility Support Specialist - Example of Duties
- Provide support in a high-volume front-desk lobby environment by assisting clients and Team Members with inquiries and directing them to resources.
- Prepare documents for processing, application registration, and screening for expedite.
- Review, input, and retrieve data from various databases and computer systems.
- Maintain working knowledge of laws, rules, policies, procedures, and other regulations.

You should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage time and priorities effectively while maintaining empathy and professionalism. To be considered for the Eligibility Support Specialist position requires a high school diploma or GED - plus - one (1) of the following:
- Completion of the Eligibility Worker one-year certificate program;
- Completion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree program;
- Three (3) years of work experience involving processing claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes, or housing assistance, or working in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, business, teaching, investments/financial planning, computer/data processing fields;
- Three (3) years of any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
