Job Information

As a Sourcing Manager, the position entails the effective procurement of commodities used in the manufacturing or sales of Doosan Bobcat products. Commodities may include raw materials (such as steel), finished components (such as hydraulic planers), or indirect.

The Sourcing Manager will lead all procurement activities for a specific category or group of categories. They will develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize costs, improve quality, and drive continuous improvement. The Sourcing Manager will manage a team of buyers and CLs and mentor and guide them in their respective commodities. The position will maintain assigned accounts and partner with suppliers to meet Doosan Bobcat's requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for strategic development of assigned suppliers and managing a subcategory team of category leaders.
  • Keep abreast of market conditions and changes within suppliers that may affect our relationship.
  • Experience with managing 3+ commodities is a plus and/or experience in other Bobcat departments.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions autonomously.
  • Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contracts.

NPD Support

  • Support the organization on all new product development programs and value analysis/value engineering programs.
  • Ensure appropriate product launch plans are in place during the New Product Development phases including aftermarket.

Strategy

  • Development of global commodity strategies.
  • Alignment and implementation of the strategies.
  • Management of strategy development within the categories.
  • Analyzing category performance and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and align category strategies with business needs.

Innovation

  • Create better ways for the organization to be successful by cultivating innovation.
  • Stimulate and direct others through ideas, questions, and direction.

Project Support

  • Execute project completion through project leadership.
  • Project support on cross-functional teams.

General Knowledge & Skills

  • Direct tasks and priorities for team members.
  • Consistently competent to highly competent work performance.
  • Drive and manage changes in business requirements and implement new plans with minimal disruption.
  • Exert influence across various levels of the organization.
  • Provide recommendations to team and upper management.

Communication / Soft Skills

  • Must be able to communicate with everyone within an organization from shop floor to executive leadership and escalate to sourcing leadership when needed.
  • Attend trade shows/conferences/training to bring further competency to the team.
  • Mentor junior employees and assist RCM with training requirements.
  • Assist junior team members with high-profile projects and presentations.
  • Influence others to make important decisions using formal and informal influence.
  • Foster growth, collaboration, and a supportive environment for everyone involved.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience: ~7+ years. Degree in Supply Chain may replace experience.
  • Travel: 20-40% and occasional global travel.
  • Must be able to communicate with everyone within an organization from shop floor to CEOs of major corporations.
  • Must practice good judgment to take the most appropriate action after considering alternatives.
  • Must have leadership skills to persuade others to implement action plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fill in for other team members or RCM in their absence.
  • Manage or mentor others on the team.
  • Support RCM for all financial reporting and systems.
