Position Summary:

The College of Health and Human Sciences at North Dakota State University seeks a dynamic Director to develop, lead, and expand its Master of Health Administration (MHA) program. This full-time, non-tenure track faculty position offers a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction, academic quality, and operational success of a growing competency-based graduate program. The Director will lead efforts in curriculum development, student engagement, healthcare workforce alignment, and strategic partnerships, particularly in rural and regional health settings. The Director will be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and managing a collaborative faculty team and guiding the program through the process of CAHME accreditation. In addition, this role will contribute to the future planning and development of related programs in health informatics and health technology. This position is ideal for an academic leader committed to excellence in healthcare education and to preparing students to meet the evolving challenges of today's healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the MHA program, including program development, CAHME accreditation preparation, and continuous quality improvement.

* Teach graduate-level courses in health administration based on expertise and program needs.

* Lead curriculum development and assessment to ensure alignment with CAHME competencies, industry needs, and NDSU's mission.

* Recruit, support, and supervise core and adjunct faculty.

* Support student advising, admissions, and recruitment efforts in partnership with departmental staff.

* Foster partnerships with healthcare organizations and industry leaders to support experiential learning, internships, and workforce alignment.

* Ensure alignment with CAHME accreditation standards, including preparation of the Self-Study and oversight of the candidacy process.

* Serve as the primary liaison with professional associations and advisory boards.

* Represent the program internally and externally, including at professional organizations and academic conferences.

* Oversee student recruitment, retention, academic advising (in coordination with advising staff), and career placement efforts.

* Collaborate with department, college, and university leadership on program evaluation, budget management, and faculty governance.

About the Program:

The new Master of Health Administration (MHA) program at North Dakota State University is dedicated to preparing ethical, innovative, and collaborative leaders equipped to address the evolving challenges of healthcare-particularly in rural and regional communities. Grounded in the values of integrity, service, resilience, and workforce alignment, the program emphasizes leadership development, practical application, and strong community engagement. Housed within the College of Health and Human Sciences, the MHA program complements other graduate offerings and benefits from interdisciplinary collaboration across the college and university. The program is aligned with the accreditation standards of the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), with plans to pursue candidacy in the near future.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 12-month, Non-Tenure Track Faculty Position

Hiring Range: $175,00 - $187,000

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Earned doctorate (e.g., PhD, DrPH, DHA) in health administration, health policy, healthcare management, or a closely related field.

* At least 5 years of leadership and administrative experience in an academic setting.

* Demonstrated knowledge of CAHME accreditation standards and competency-based education.

* Experience developing and leading an accredited higher education program.

* Experience launching or managing online or hybrid program delivery.

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a commitment to academic excellence and student success.

* Effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in health administration or related field from a CAHME-accredited program.

* Evidence of teaching or curriculum development experience in healthcare administration or related graduate education.

* Experience working in or with large health systems.

* Experience working in or with rural or frontier health systems.

* Experience with health technology and informatics.

* Demonstrated knowledge of CAHIIM accreditation standards.

* Experience with workforce development.

* History of successful interprofessional collaboration and external partnerships.

* Strong network of professional connections in healthcare administration.

* Grant and/or research experience in healthcare leadership, policy, or technology.
