Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Travel - This position is based in Burnsville, MN, with up to 40% travel.
  • Estimate costs, control projects, schedule, and track quantities.
  • Support project teams including Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, and staff.
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively with owners, design partners, subcontractors, and workforce.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, schedules, and process RFIs.
  • Monitor quality control, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Assist with project layout and identify critical work items.
  • Procure long-lead items and assist with monthly billings and change orders.
  • Manage document control including submittals, contract documents, and shop drawings.
  • Assist with delivery, inventory, and warehousing of materials and equipment.
  • Resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce.
  • Maintain as-built drawings and manuals.
  • Lead or attend meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education & Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in estimating or project management within heavy industrial construction.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and be self-motivated.
  • Positive attitude with excellent motivation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with clients, engineering firms, subcontractors, and management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, HCSS or similar estimating software, earthwork programs like Agtek, Bluebeam, and familiarity with Primavera.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to recognize critical issues.
  • Effective time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Working Conditions

  • Construction site environment requiring physical activity including standing, walking, crawling, bending, reaching, and climbing; exposed to high noise levels.
  • Office environment involving extensive sitting, computer work, with occasional standing, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
