As a multimedia Reporter I or II for MPR News, you will report, write, and produce daily news and enterprise stories for all Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) News platforms, audio, digital, and video.
We are seeking a curious, dynamic reporter with a passion for telling engaging stories in any medium and an ability to break news. You will be joining a collaborative team of talented journalists who cover Minnesota from our regional bureaus located across the state. Our team covers a wide range of topics including - but not limited to agriculture, rural health care, climate change impacts, the state's energy transition, tourism, education, and politics. Regional reporters engage with local and statewide audiences as they deliver impactful journalism across platforms. While your day-to-day work will frequently be solo and often on the road, reporters are in daily contact with their editor. You'll need to be comfortable filing remotely and working on your own.
This is a position within the SAG-AFTRA bargaining unit at MPR News and will be either Reporter I or Reporter II, depending upon the candidate's experience.
Expected Compensation Range: Reporter I: $30.84 $37.00. Reporter II: $35.70 - $42.84. Exact rate determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.
