Description:

The Account Manager I is a developmental role that involves job shadowing and working alongside and under the supervision of an experienced account manager. This role is designed to expose the associate to technical water treatment problem-solving and fundamentals to customer selling. In the role, the candidate will be assigned specific tasks on accounts within an existing territory to retain, per the manager's direction, and communicate with the customer base as well as ChemTreat Account Managers and other company representatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • With guidance, create, improve, and implement innovative sales strategies to drive ChemTreats position and increase share within the assigned geography.
  • Begin to develop key relationships with customers by helping to identify decision makers, researching prospects, partnering with senior staff to cold call, follow up, and implement strategic questioning to identify customer needs.
  • Work with senior staff to increase sales and profit margin within the territory.
  • Engage technical staff and management to develop retention and growth strategies.
  • Establish professional relationships with key personnel in customer accounts.

SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and communicate proposals to current and prospective customers.
  • Learn and communicate the ChemTreat value proposition.
  • Begin troubleshooting technical and site-specific issues.
  • Audit key unit operations.
  • Participate in customer entertainment in accordance with company policy.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or a technical field.
  • 2-4 years of experience interacting with customers at all levels; water treatment experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Travel as required.
  • Long hours and varied schedules may be necessary.
  • Physical activities include sitting, walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, smelling, handling objects, and operating a computer.

WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT

  • Use of PPE required.
  • Work may occur in extreme heat, noisy environments, and at heights.
  • Outdoor sites include cooling towers, water and wastewater plants, and process areas with routine use of hazardous chemicals.

  • This is an at-will employment position.

  • Compensation ranges from $70,000 to $95,000 USD plus commission, with benefits including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
