Description & Details:  
 The Associate Director for Residence Life is a bold leader, skilled supervisor and passionate team member in NDSU's Department of Residence Life. This position directly supervises 13 full-time Hall Directors and oversees the supervision of more than 100 student team members. The Associate Director must have expertise in team leadership with the ability to develop new professionals. The Associate Director also provides leadership and coordination for the on-going recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation of Hall Director and student team members. NDSU Residence Life needs a bold leader with experience implementing residential curriculum, and developing strong cross-divisional partnerships. This position must also show compassionate leadership in areas of diversity and inclusion, to ensure a diverse living environment where all feel welcome and safe. As a member of the central management team for Residence Life, this position contributes to the overall administration of the department, assessment and budget processes. The Associate Director reports to the Director of Residence Life. 
  Work Schedule:  
 M-F 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with some nights and weekend requirements 
 M-F 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. summer and academic breaks 
  Hiring Range: $82,000-$85,000 +  
 Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.  
  Minimum Qualifications: 
-  Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or related area of study 
-  Five years or more post-Master's work experience in higher education 
-  Three years supervisory experience including the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation, and supervision of staff 
- Demonstrated leadership skills grounded in student development theory 
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:-  Full time, progressive Residence Life experience 
-  Experience supervising full-time or graduate-level staff 
-  Budget management and assessment experience 
Core Competencies:- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
 
- Strong organizational, logistical and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines while maintaining work quality
 
- Strong intrinsic motivation to proactively identify needs, initiate action, and take ownership or responsibilities
 
- Proficient computer skills
