Are you passionate about water safety, youth development, and building confident swimmers? The YMCA Swim School is seeking a full-time Swim Lessons Coordinator to lead our dynamic swim program and make a lasting impact in our community!

The YMCA Swim School takes a safety-first approach, focusing on small class sizes, boosting confidence in the water, building student/instructor relationships, and allowing each student to progress at their own pace. Our lessons develop aquatic readiness, engage in underwater exploration, and teach children important water safety skills.

The YMCA provides swimming lessons to swimmers of all ages and skill levels, from infants to adults! We also offer private lessons, semi-private lessons, and adaptive lessons for swimmers with special needs.

Swim Lessons Coordinator:

  • Provides leadership and direction for all aspects of the swim school
  • Assigns swimming lesson classes, private swim lessons, instructors and prints class rosters
  • Monitors lessons, lesson plans, attendance, welcome letters, goal sheets, mid-sessions, safety day, patches and progress reports
  • Plans, coordinates, schedules and manages swim school enrollments for current and future sessions by watching waitlists and opening classes to maximize swim school enrollment
  • Supervises, observes, evaluates and gives guidance to all swim instructors
  • Is on deck and meets parents to answer questions regarding swimming lessons
  • Responds to all member/participant inquiries in a timely manner
Requirements
  • At least 18 years old
  • 2 year of directly related experience, training and/or education. Experience does not need to be directly related to teaching swimming lessons; it may include general program management, staff supervision, etc.
  • Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid training will be provided by the YMCA, but swimming skills are required to teach lessons.
