Controller

Preference Employment Solutions is recruiting for a Controller for a local construction company. This is an amazing opportunity to work with a close-knit team and lead the accounting functions for the organization. Payroll is an included responsibility with experience processing for the states of ND, SD, and MN. The Controller will report directly to the President and work side by side with other people on the leadership team.

Location: West Fargo, ND

Type of Position: Full Time - Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Compensation: $70K - $100K DOE

Position Overview:

Accounting

• Prepare monthly payroll journal entries
• Budget and forecast detailed balance sheets and statements of cash flow
• Lead accounts payable and receivable
• Oversee and manage accounting activities in accordance with GAAP
• Monitor inventory and assist in year-end inventory process
• Manage the AP, AR, and credit/collections processes
• Complete company financials by the 10th of each month for the previous month's information

Payroll

• Complete accurate and timely payroll each week for 40 employees
• Identify and enter prevailing wage rates to the appropriate jobs in the system
• Maintain certified payroll and benefit tracking spreadsheets
• Correspond with employees, contractors, and government contacts regarding payroll and certified payroll reports

Characteristics of a Successful Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or finance required
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction job cost accounting and processing payroll
• Self-motivated and highly organized
