Truss Builder/Truss Stacker

Job Status: Full-time

Hours: 7:30-4:30 Monday through Friday

Location: West Fargo, ND

Pay: $17+ Depending on experience

Description: We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our truss plant team. This position involves both outdoor work stacking trusses (80% of time) and indoor work building roof and floor trusses (20% of time). Candidates must have basic knowledge of hand and power tools, be comfortable working in various weather conditions as this position will be mostly outside and be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Stacking wood trusses outside
2. Assembling pre-cut lumber components into trusses
3. Material handling of lumber, steel plates, and other building materials
4. Banding metal plates when needed
5. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices. Recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
6. Provides new employee training to new truss stackers and builders
7. Other duties may be assigned

Competencies:

• Knowledge of company products, production processes and product standards
• Skilled in use of all tools (hammers, nailers, drills, tape measures) and equipment (presses) used for building trusses
• Motivated self-starter and problem solver
• Good verbal skills and work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Must be dependable.
• 1 year experience performing and coordinating construction manufacturing activities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Truss manufacturing experience not required but a plus.

Work Environment/Physical Activity:

• Work is performed outside and within a shop environment, subject to temperature variations, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 75 pounds.
• Job tasks involve climbing, lifting, pushing and kneeling.
