Licensed Addiction Counselor

This position assesses clients' chemical usage and treatment needs, providing treatment, education and support to the clients and their families to help them develop and maintain sobriety and good health.

The addiction counselor does not supervise any position. Any registered clinical supervisor may be assigned trainees.

Duties and essential job functions include conducting assessments to determine client treatment needs, providing individual and group counseling, developing materials for and facilitating client group meetings, assessing client progress to evaluate success of treatment, maintaining records and documents on clients and treatment progress, attending and participating in staff meetings, referring clients to and consulting with other support services, conducting administrative duties, providing and maintaining reliable and prompt attendance, assigning clients drug screens and monitoring the results.

Periodic functions and responsibilities include maintaining contact and communication with outside agencies, participating in on-call rotation, attending administrative and other meetings, providing leadership in the advocacy of ShareHouse, serving on committees, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as social work, chemical dependency, counseling or human services, may require a Masters' degree in related field, and required minimum work experience dependent upon position and program.

Required licenses/certificates include current Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counseling certification or Licensed Addiction Counselor certification, depending on state/location/program, meeting exemptions under applicable federal/state rules and statutes, current Licensed Clinical Independent Social Worker certification or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and may be required to possess and maintain valid driver license and be able to be insured according to company insurance standards.

Telehealth expectations include completing training as assigned related to telehealth expectations and etiquette, designated work area conducive to providing therapeutic services and client confidentiality, compliance with IT related requests, and working devices/equipment and sufficient internet speed.

Physical requirements include stooping and bending, use of color vision and ability to distinguish colors, pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying up to 15 lbs., ability to communicate orally and hear/understand oral communication, ability to utilize fine motor skills, reach and grasp, standing for up to 1 hour, pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying over 15 lbs.

Work environment includes being exposed to drafts, noise, temperature variations and odors.

Compensation range is $65,000.00-$84,500.00 (DOE). Compensation for this position is based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
