Job Summary

Lead and oversee NutriQuest dairy research management, driving planning, and execution. Continuously improve dairy research studies to maximize capacity and impact.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and manage the successful implementation of NutriQuest dairy research projects, including protocol development, trial design, and scheduling at NutriQuest research locations
  • Oversee strategic planning to maximize research capacity and ensure effective allocation of resources and personnel
  • Provide strong leadership to guide, supervise, and mentor dairy research staff and interns in research implementation and execution
  • Communicate and collaborate proactively with internal research teams and external partners, including research organizations, laboratory providers and innovation customers
  • Monitor study progress, diagnose challenges, and make timely decisions for continuous improvement of dairy research management and experimental outcomes
  • Coordinate contract research activities with innovation customers, ensuring successful completion and client satisfaction
  • Effectively deliver trial data for statistical analysis and support development of final reports
  • Maintain oversight of research sample inventory, feed ordering, supply ordering and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols and upholding the highest standards of data integrity and research ethics
  • Collaborate with other NutriQuest research team members to ensure efficiency of completion of research tasks. Many of the research tasks include direct handling of dairy cattle, calves, and steers.
  • Other projects assigned by supervisor

Job Qualifications
  • Master's degree in animal science or a related field preferred; candidates with a Bachelor's degree and significant relevant experience will also be considered
  • Minimum five years of experience in research
  • Ability to lead a collaborative team
  • Experience in cattle handling
  • Strong skills in data processing and project management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with colleagues, customers and prospects
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Flexibility in schedule. Some weekends and early mornings will be required.

Travel Requirements
  • Willingness and ability to travel to other research locations as well as NutriQuest company and team meetings (10%)

Physical Demands
  • Walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours. Is subject to lifting over 50 pounds.
