Part-time Positive Support Services Specialist

Positive Support Services promotes community participation, person-centeredness and inclusion. We serve people with disabilities who have been approved for waivered services in home- and community-based settings. Services will provide positive support strategies to promote and increase skills and self-determination for those striving to improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to clients, staff, and/or family with positive support services, including implementing behavioral plans and collecting and recording behavioral data.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a social services discipline or nursing, OR
  • Two years of supervised experience working with people who exhibit challenging behavior as well as co-occurring mental disorders and neurocognitive disorders. AND the ability to complete required hours of training and demonstrate competencies related to Minn. R. 9544.0040 and Minn. R. 9544.0020, subp. 47 within the first ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Due to the personal care and privacy needs of the individuals served in this role, this position is open to female candidates only.

Must be able to pass First Aid and CPR competency. Must have a valid driver's license, current car insurance, meet insurability standards, pass a background check, and have an internet-enabled device. Proficiency in speaking and writing in the English language is required.

Hours
  • 10 hours per week, with gradual increase of hours, as caseload increases.
  • Flexible Monday-Friday, 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. (must be flexible to accommodate early or later appointments for clients, will be based on need).
  • If seeking a full-time opportunity, this position can be paired with hours for Direct Support Professional position.
