Position Description & Details:
The Memorial Union is looking for a Building Assistant for the Fall Semester.
Members of the Student Building Operations team report to the Assistant Director of Operations and Event Services. Responsibilities include providing set-ups and tear-downs of event furniture and equipment for special meetings and events.
Team Members will assist with daily operating tasks in the building operations, including but not limited to assisting with customer requests, light cleaning (wiping surfaces, emptying trash, and other general cleaning of event spaces, meeting rooms, lounges restrooms, common areas, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Prepare rooms and reservation spaces in the Memorial Union for scheduled reservations.
- Manage opening and closing of Memorial Union cash operation services.
- Walk through building a minimum of 3 times per shift to ensure building and rooms look professional and clean.
- Provide prompt, courteous and efficient excellent customer service to all visitors, students, faculty and staff.
- Establish and maintain strong, supportive and positive working relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Maintain a high level of morale within the department and present self as a positive role model.
Work Schedule: - Set weekly schedule and rotating weekend shifts.
Minimum starting salary: Minimum Qualifications: - Must be an NDSU student and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Be reliable and prompt
- Great communication and organization
- Work safely
- Attend student employee trainings and all University required trainings
- Pass a required background check
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in customer service or building operations
