Zonda is looking for a passionate Director of Business Development, Building Products to evolve and expand our team. Zonda looks for people who can grow, think, dream, and create. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for generating new business representing Zonda data services, integrated media programs, print advertising, online advertising, sponsorships, and strategic marketing services. In addition, this individual will work collaboratively with the Customer Success Manager to drive the brand in the territory markets by becoming an active participant in the building products industry. Knowledge of building‑product manufacturers, home builders, residential housing industry players, and key projects/developments within the industry is highly valued but not required.
Responsibilities
- Generate new business selling Zonda data & media services to building product organizations
- Develop and execute on a sales plan for the territory
- Meet assigned sales activity metrics, generate new prospect meetings each week and maintain all meeting & pipeline information in Salesforce
- Generate qualifying leads and drive the full sales cycle from introductory calls to closing deals
- Schedule and perform in person and virtual demonstrations
- Embrace new technology, and have strong proficiency with multiple technology platforms
- Travel as necessary within your territory & attend occasional industry events
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a related SaaS business development/outside sales role
- Previous experience in a SaaS environment with focus on user acquisition
- Experience and desire to manage the entire sales process which includes prospecting, needs analysis, and closing; drive to acquire new business will be key
Skills
- Success in this role will call for a hunter mentality, a quick learner, independent mindset, and high energy
- Strong prospecting, presentation, and closing skills
- Proficiency using Salesforce (or other CRM platform) is required
- Ability to learn and develop proficiency in new skills quickly
- Goal‑oriented sales approach; be able to provide a proven track record of meeting quarterly and annual goals
- Ability to thrive in an environment that changes
- Ability to travel occasionally within defined sales territory
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably specializing in business, management, or a similar field of study.
