SUMMARY:
The Community Education Program Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the Parks and Recreation Department by overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and activities for community members of all ages. This position is responsible for ensuring that programs align with the department's mission to promote lifelong learning, community engagement, and recreational enrichment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise a diverse range of community education programs, including workshops, classes, cultural events, and special interest activities.
- Recruit, train, and manage program instructors, volunteers, and support staff.
- Develop program curricula and materials tailored to the needs and interests of various age groups and demographics within the community.
- Monitor program participation and effectiveness, collecting and analyzing feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with local schools, organizations, and stakeholders to expand program offerings and promote community partnerships.
- Oversee program budgets, track expenditures, and prepare reports for department leadership.
- Partner with marketing to promote programs through print, digital, and social media channels to maximize community participation.
- Ensure compliance with all departmental policies, safety standards, and regulations related to educational programming.
- Address participant inquiries, concerns, and incidents in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide resource and referral information as appropriate.

Experience and Skills EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Accepted education and experience are as follows:
- Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in recreation, therapeutic recreation programming, education, public administration or related field.
- Preferred:
A minimum of four years related work experience in recreation programming, education, or related field demonstrating leadership, organization, communication and project management skills.
CREDENTIALS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: - Must possess a valid driver's license.
