Description:

Northwest Truck & Trailer is seeking a Parts Counter Sales professional to join our team. Hours are 8am-5pm, pay is $20.00/hr + commission.

This role requires an H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of one year experience in heavy truck parts industry and/or sales. Must have excellent customer service skills, ability to read and comprehend instructions and information and basic computer skills; ability to pass a background check, drug screen and motor vehicle report required.

JOB SUMMARY

The Parts Counter Sales position performs a variety of customer service, marketing, promoting, and advertising duties related to the sale and delivery of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the dealerships parts department. This position is responsible for ongoing responsibility for assisting with the phone parts sales and customer service responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)

Education and/or years' experience required:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of one year experience in heavy truck parts industry and/or sales.
Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Strong commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable):
  • No supervisory responsibilities required with this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITES
  • Handle parts requirements of customers through counter service and sales.
  • Answer sales inquiries by phone and in person for customers by clarifying desired information; researching, locating, and providing information.
  • Service existing accounts, obtains and follows up on orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential new accounts.
  • Assessing present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities.
  • Maintain customer goodwill.
  • Verify receiving shipments by checking order against packing list.
  • Assist in keeping parts clean and shelf section area stocked and orderly.
  • Follow-up on shortages and expedite through reporting to parts manager.
  • Supply service technicians with parts as requested.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable).
  • Must be able to do heavy lifting of equipment parts and tools as required from time to time.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient work flow in the department.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out and completed accordingly.
  • Able to follow directions from a supervisor.
  • Able to interact effectively with co-workers.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as be a team player with the department.
  • Able to understand and comply with posted rules and procedures.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Adhere to work schedule and maintain regular attendance.
  • Performs Wallwork Inc.-wide duties as requested by the designated supervisor.
