Forest Health - 2026 Seasonal Forestry Technician Description and Details
Duties:
- Address public and private tree health assistance requests statewide.
- Assist with insect trapping for emerald ash borer.
- Apply Forest Health sampling methods to accompany assistance visits.
- Conduct tree health surveys in communities statewide.
- Collect and manage data to assist long-term FH monitoring.
- Coordinate with Forest Health manager and full-time staff to provide field services for ongoing Forest Health initiatives statewide.
Advertised Pay: Starting at $22.00/hour.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience working with landowners on forestry or related conservation practices.
- Familiarity with the use of forestry tools, forest inventory and field sampling techniques.
- Familiarity with identifying trees and shrubs common to ND.
- Knowledge and experience with various field sampling methods.
- Highly self-motivated, dedicated, outgoing, confident, and ethical.
- Ability to work safely without direct supervision.
- Valid driver's license.
