Lead - Painter

Description & Details:

  • Use of brush, roller, and spray equipment; Use of man-lift and scaffolding; Use of banjo and other taping tools; Use of sander, scrapers and wire brushes
  • Order materials required to complete projects
  • Use of color machines to mix and match paints and stains; Use of paint shaker
  • Read formulas for paints and stains
  • Record paints and stains used in projects
  • Prioritize and distribute work orders
  • Hire and supervise summer help as needed
  • Organize equipment and supplies related to job assignments
  • Create and maintain work schedule for paint shop
  • Estimate work cost for campus requests
  • Record on computer daily hours
  • Stress safety and proper use of equipment and chemicals
  • Identify proper cleaning of solutions for latex and oil base paints
  • General knowledge of cleaning spray equipment
  • Wall-covering applications
  • Stripe parking lots when needed

Work Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm

Hiring Range: $52,000 - $74,000 / year

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years journeyman painter
  • Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years as Painter Lead/Supervisor
