Schedule: 7:30 AM 4:00 PM (Day Shift)

Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a manual screen-printing press in accordance with job specifications, safety standards, and quality guidelines. This role maintains print quality, registration, color accuracy, and production efficiency while troubleshooting printing issues. The operator works with various inks, solvents, and substrates.

Responsibilities

  • Review production orders to verify quantities, color sequence, and substrates.
  • Gather materials and set up press according to job and safety requirements.
  • Print proofs and obtain approval prior to production runs.
  • Operate the press at optimal speed while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Perform regular quality checks and make necessary adjustments.
  • Adjust drying or curing equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve printing issues.
  • Complete production documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of press and work area.
  • Perform finishing and other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 13 years of screen-printing or related experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of color, design, and print quality.
  • Ability to read instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read a ruler.
  • Good problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in production, general labor, and working on screen printing machines.
  • Skills in print, assembly, packaging, and general warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools, quality checks, computer skills, silk screening, machine operating, machine operation, printing, silk screen, and production assembly.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires close, distance, and color vision.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, chemicals, fumes, heat, and moderate to loud noise. Standard work hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, ND.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
