Newly appointed Customs and Border Protection Officers may qualify for recruitment incentives, potentially earning up to $15,000 annually for service contracts in specific areas. Salaries for new officers range from GS-5 to GS-7, amounting from $40,332 to $109,952 per year, with locality pay applicable based on your duty location.
Once fully trained, officers can also earn up to $45,000 in overtime pay to enhance their salary. You will have a clear career advancement path, with eligibility for promotions from GS-5 to GS-12 after satisfactorily serving 52 weeks in each grade level.
