Job Summary:

Join our dynamic team as an Engineering Technician II/III! In this role, you will engage in a mix of exciting field and office technical engineering tasks across various projects related to transportation, infrastructure, utilities, aviation, municipal services, public works, telecom, construction, and environmental initiatives. Under the guidance of your supervisors, you will support engineers and experienced technicians with surveying, data analysis, documentation, and field observations, contributing to projects that enhance communities and public safety.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in collecting, compiling, measuring, and analyzing numerical and graphical data from sites, including surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and technical drawings.
  • Support with observations and evaluations of field conditions to ensure compliance with standards, plans, and permits.
  • Contribute to engineering tasks, focusing on quality control and the functionality of infrastructure and systems.
  • Help in verifying site characteristics and provide technical assistance on design and construction issues.
  • Verify calculations and support with compliance checks, escalating issues for resolution as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones efficiently.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and records, utilizing various electronic systems and maintaining detailed logs.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and site-specific procedures during all project activities.
  • Participate in training for assigned tasks to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Exercise responsible conduct regarding resources and comply with company policies.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required to support business needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Solid understanding of engineering technician support principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and learn new techniques quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet objectives.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, software, and mathematical principles.
  • Flexibility to accommodate project schedules, including occasional extended hours and travel.

Physical Requirements:

  • This role involves physical demands that may require reasonable accommodations. Employees may need to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crawl, and use hands for handling objects and tools.
  • Ability to traverse uneven terrain up to three miles daily.
  • Must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities necessary for this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
