Position Overview

The Site Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing site-specific safety programs for one or more construction projects. This role ensures compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and client safety requirements. The Site Safety Manager may report directly to the Corporate Safety Director and plays a critical role in promoting a proactive safety culture on-site.

This position is assigned to a mission-critical project in Lebanon, IN. Upon project completion, relocation to another job site may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary safety liaison between client representatives, subcontractors, trades personnel, and project teams.
  • Implement and manage all on-site safety programs and responsibilities.
  • Provide technical safety support, including development, revision, interpretation, and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Review subcontractor safety plans and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs); provide feedback and ensure compliance.
  • Plan and coordinate safety initiatives with project leadership.
  • Develop, update, and conduct site-specific safety orientations and training sessions.
  • Perform routine safety observations to ensure consistent policy enforcement.
  • Document safety violations, issue corrective actions, and support disciplinary processes as needed.
  • Identify training needs and deliver safety training at both project and company levels.
  • Participate in incident investigations and contribute to lessons-learned processes.
  • Attend start-up, pre-construction, and subcontractor meetings to communicate safety expectations.
  • Verify subcontractor compliance with insurance and contractual safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting.
  • Communicate safety updates and requirements to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with OSHA and other regulatory agencies as necessary.
  • Participate in Safety Department meetings and initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide safety guidance to employees.
  • Complete additional assignments as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to implement company safety policies through planning and site inspections.
  • Experience developing and delivering safety training across multiple organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong prioritization skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% (preferred).
  • Must reliably commute to or relocate to Lebanon, IN prior to start date (required).
  • Willingness to relocate to future project sites upon completion.
  • OSHA 30 certification (required).
  • CPR/First Aid certification (required).
  • STSC or CHST certifications preferred but not required.
