At QBE, we're on the lookout for a passionate and skilled individual to lead cross-functional technology programs and enhance our Technology Portfolio & Program Management function. Your leadership will ensure our initiatives align with business objectives and meet regulatory compliance, making a real impact in the organization.

Location: Fargo, North Dakota, Council Bluffs, Iowa or Ramsey, Minnesota

Work Arrangement: This role requires 3 days per week in the office.

Compensation: Competitive salary range between $134,500 and $201,500, based on experience.

Your Role:

  • Engage in strategic planning with senior leaders to ensure technology initiatives foster organizational success.
  • Establish clear objectives for all initiatives and ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery.
  • Provide expert guidance on business demands, prioritizing additions to our technology portfolio.
  • Foster strong relationships between business and IT for effective decision-making throughout project lifecycles.
  • Lead and empower the Project Management team to maintain consistent delivery practices and documentation standards.
  • Refine and enhance project processes to ensure repeatable and predictable outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve or escalate risks and issues across all initiatives.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders across various functions and levels.
  • Oversee vendor relationships to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Ensure cohesive program management across diverse teams, marrying efforts from IT, business, and external partners.
  • Deliver concise program status updates and communicate effectively with executives regarding progress and required actions.

Required Experience:

  • Proven track record in leading complex technology initiatives within IT organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder relationships efficiently.
  • Experience guiding projects from inception to implementation, aligning them with strategic goals.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in insurance or regulated industries with complex operational structures.
  • Expertise in managing stakeholder relationships at all organizational levels, including senior executives.
  • Strong conflict resolution and decision-influencing capabilities.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and robust technology delivery practices.
  • Significant background in Project, Program, or Portfolio Management with responsibility for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience engaging with outsourced IT arrangements and managing vendor partnerships.
  • Ability to oversee risks, financials, and resource constraints across concurrent initiatives.
