Buyer

About The Role

The Buyer is responsible for procuring material and components necessary to support daily production at multiple facilities. The Buyer develops and manages a supply base which consistently delivers the material and component requirements for the company. The Buyer drives improvements in supplier performance on availability, quality, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Issue Purchase Orders for materials, maintenance, and operational supplies as defined by MRP Recommendations and Shop notifications.
• Monitor the Expedite, Defer, and open Purchase Order reports to ensure component availability.
• Utilize business systems in all aspects of material/service management to ensure material availability.
• Establish and manage pricing, delivery, and quality expectations with suppliers.
• Promote and support inventory management improvements on accuracy and turns.
• Notify leadership of any supply chain risks or concerns related to supplier performance.
• Perform additional tasks outlined by Director of Sourcing, based on business requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

2-year Associate's degree (Business, Engineering, Operations or related field) with 5 years of Purchasing, Materials or Sourcing related experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Infor XA business systems software. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities.
