Your Responsibilities

As part of our team, you will be responsible for the following:

• Maintain and service refrigeration equipment including walk-in freezers, refrigerators, and coolers.
• Service and maintain dishwashers, water heaters, steam kettles, cookers, and mixers.
• Work on ovens, gas valves, pilot lights, thermocouples, and heating/refrigerating units on food carts.
• Install and relocate food service equipment and appliances.
• Oversee and lead the work of others, manage material requisitions, and maintain records.
• Support general maintenance tasks across the district as needed, which may include heavy manual labor.

What You Should Know

• Familiarity with electrical and plumbing systems, kitchen appliance repair, and refrigeration systems is essential.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials related to food service maintenance.
• Basic arithmetic and a good command of the English language for effective communication.
• Awareness of safety procedures in food service environments.

Your Skills

• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electric motors, pumps, compressors, plumbing, and heating systems.
• Proficient in handling required hand and power tools.
• Physical capability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions.
• Skill in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.
• Adept at estimating time and materials, maintaining records, and following instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Licenses Required

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• HVAC certification is preferred and may be necessary depending on your location.

Physical Requirements

• This position requires physical strength, including the ability to lift 75-100 lbs regularly and perform various physical tasks.
• Applicants must have a willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
