We are on the lookout for a talented Senior Data Engineer to enhance our Telecom Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth hands-on experience in data ingestion, transformation, quality assurance, operations engineering, data modeling, and delivery, utilizing a modern cloud data stack that includes FiveTran, Snowflake, Matillion, Tableau, and Secoda. This vital role ensures the availability, reliability, and quality of data that drives enterprise analytics, reporting, and strategic decision-making across our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Ingestion & Integration: Design, implement, and manage automated data ingestion pipelines using FiveTran and other ETL/ELT tools. Integrate data from telecom systems including OSS/BSS, CRM, billing, and network systems into Snowflake, ensuring scalability and reliability to meet business SLAs.
  • Data Transformation & Modeling: Develop and optimize ELT pipelines in Matillion for efficient data transformations in Snowflake, build and maintain data models to support reporting and analytics needs while enforcing best practices for consistent naming, lineage, and documentation across datasets.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Implement and monitor validation, profiling, and quality checks for data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Collaborate with data governance teams to maintain metadata and documentation within Secoda, troubleshooting any discrepancies proactively.
  • Operations Engineering: Support the daily operations of the EDW, including job scheduling, monitoring, and performance tuning. Implement alerting and observability practices to ensure optimal system uptime and participate in on-call support as necessary.
  • Analytics & Data Delivery: Collaborate with analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders to facilitate data consumption in Tableau and other systems, developing optimized data extracts, dashboards, and APIs for various business needs.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with data architects and business analysts to translate requirements into data engineering solutions while contributing to standards, best practices, and automation efforts within the data engineering team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 8 years of experience in data engineering or data warehousing, preferably within the telecom sector.
  • Proficient in FiveTran, Snowflake, Matillion, Tableau, and Secoda, with a solid understanding of data modeling and data quality frameworks.
  • Strong SQL skills alongside familiarity with Python or bash scripting.
  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the telecom industry, especially with OSS/BSS systems.
  • CI/CD experience for data pipelines, knowledge of dbt, and exposure to data observability tools.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proactive in issue resolution, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: Competitive pay range of $115,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with skills and experience.
