Responsibilities

Teach Statistics and Mathematics Courses. The incumbent would be expected to teach statistics courses that serve actuarial science and data science majors, including courses on probability, statistics, regression, and financial mathematics.

Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.

Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.

Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.

Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.

Engage in service to the University and community.

Salary Range

$64,963-$193,146 annually.

Minimum Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics or related field by time of appointment.
• Must meet Higher Learning Commission [HLC] faculty credentialing guidelines [e.g. have 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline the faculty is teaching].
• Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students of diverse backgrounds, including sensitivity to their needs and concerns.

Preferred Qualifications

• General training in teaching courses in actuarial science (exam P/1 and FM/2).
• Having passed Actuarial Exams P/1 and FM/2.
• Classroom teaching of university-level courses in lower level mathematics including calculus.
