Office Manager / HR Manager

Position Summary

A well-established and growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and hands-on Office Manager / HR Manager with strong accounting software experience (preferably Sage 50) to oversee office operations, human resources, and financial administration. The preferred candidate will need to be highly organized and detail-oriented and a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple responsibilities with discretion and efficiency.

This position plays a critical role in supporting both our production team and leadership by ensuring smooth HR processes, regulatory compliance, and accurate financial management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources (Manufacturing Workforce Focus)

  • Manage all HR functions for production, warehouse, and administrative staff
  • Administer Workers' Compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs
  • Oversee employee benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (including safety-related requirements)
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation
  • Support performance management and employee relations
  • Coordinate onboarding, safety training documentation, and compliance reporting
Recruiting & Staffing
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for skilled trades, machine operators, warehouse staff, and office personnel
  • Screen applicants and coordinate interviews with department managers
  • Facilitate onboarding and new hire paperwork
  • Assist with workforce planning to meet production demands
Accounting & Financial Administration
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Manage vendor payments and customer invoicing
  • Maintain financial records using Sage 50 (preferred)
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for company accountant
  • Assist with cost tracking and budget monitoring
  • Support inventory-related financial coordination as needed
Insurance & Risk Management
  • Manage company liability insurance policies
  • Coordinate Workers' Compensation coverage and claims
  • Work directly with insurance brokers and carriers
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing insurance and risk requirements
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Office Management and HR, preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance, benefits administration, and Workers' Compensation
  • Accounting experience required; proficiency in Sage 50 strongly preferred
  • Experience managing AP/AR and preparing financials for external accountant
  • Ability to work effectively with production supervisors and leadership
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in small to mid-sized manufacturing company
  • Knowledge of OSHA documentation and safety compliance support
  • Payroll processing experience
  • Experience supporting a multi-shift workforce
