Mid-Level Network Engineer
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a hands-on, mid-level Network Engineer to provide immediate operational support for a complex enterprise network environment supporting over 5,000 users. This role is critical due to recent team capacity constraints and increasing operational demands. The engineer will join a six-person network team (recently reduced to five) and focus on maintaining stability, resolving incidents, and supporting ongoing infrastructure initiatives.
This is an initial six-month contract with potential month-to-month extensions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational support across LAN/WAN infrastructure
• Support and troubleshoot HP Aruba switching and wireless environments, including ClearPass
• Assist with Check Point firewall administration and VPN management
• Support Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM operations
• Respond to fiber cuts and circuit outages to restore connectivity quickly
• Support disaster recovery network connectivity
• Assist with Azure ExpressRoute connectivity where needed
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners (including health payer entities)
• Participate in on-site support efforts as required, including short-term focused project work

• Provide stability support following recent team attrition
• Reduce operational strain on existing network team members
• Assist with firewall and infrastructure coverage gaps

• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise LAN/WAN environments
• Practical experience with HP Aruba switching and wireless technologies
• Exposure to Aruba ClearPass (strongly preferred)
• Experience administering Check Point firewalls and VPNs
• Working knowledge of Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues in production under pressure
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

• Juniper switching with BGP exposure
• Azure ExpressRoute experience
• Experience supporting health payer or healthcare enterprise environments

• Comfortable in operational support environments
• Able to treat the network as their "baby" during contract period
• Strong communicator who aligns well with stakeholders
• Practical, hardware-oriented network experience (not SaaS/cloud-only)
