Position Details:

Position Purpose:

As an essential part of our nation's food supply chain, our delivery drivers ensure timely delivery and unloading of food products while building strong relationships with our valued customers!

Your role involves driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck, managing intrastate and interstate routes, and ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Professionally interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers to provide timely and accurate answers to inquiries.
  • Collaborate as a team member and fulfill various duties to effectively support the organization.
  • Conduct necessary safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections to ensure all vehicles meet company safety standards.
  • Proactively report any safety issues or required repairs.
  • Consistently comply with DOT regulations and company driving policies.
  • Verify that trailers are properly loaded and freight is secure prior to delivery.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork related to freight.
  • Drive predetermined routes to deliver orders to customers.
  • Unload products and transport them to designated storage areas at customer locations.
  • Monitor for damaged goods and follow company policy for returns.
  • Verify orders during delivery with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Handle monetary transactions securely as instructed, and ensure safe loading of returns on the trailer.
  • Maintain security of all trucks and freight at all times.
  • Complete daily records of service hours in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure cleanliness in the tractor and loading area.
  • At the end of each shift, ensure all equipment is secured and complete necessary documentation.
  • Execute other related duties to support operations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL A license.
  • Must meet all state licensing and certification requirements.
  • Able to lift and move product cases of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Successfully pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass a road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or the ability to secure one.
