Job Title: Pipe Welder Job Description

Join our team as a Pipe Welder, where you will work in a dynamic and safety-focused industrial environment. You will be responsible for performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations on various systems,ensuring the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely in a team-oriented, safety-first industrial environment.

  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on tanks, vessels, piping, and structural systems.

  • Layout, fabricate, install, and repair piping systems, valves, and related equipment.

  • Perform pipe fitting and certified pipe welding in accordance with B31.1 and B31.3 codes.

  • Weld using GTAW, SMAW, MIG, and gas welding processes.

  • Operate plasma cutters, torches, saws, pipe threading, and cutting equipment.

  • Inspect and test welds (hydrostatic, X-ray, dimensional tolerance) to ensure quality.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and engineering specifications.

  • Rig and lift equipment in accordance with company policies.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Operate industrial equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and skid loaders.

  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and across all shifts (including weekends and holidays) as required.

  • Complete accurate documentation, work orders, and time reporting.

  • Maintain required personal tools and comply with all company and customer policies.

Essential Skills

  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and isometric drawings.

  • Ability to perform certified pipe welding in accordance with B31.1 and B31.3 codes.

  • Experience in welding using GTAW, SMAW, MIG, and gas welding processes.

  • Proficiency in operating industrial equipment and tools.

  • Valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • AA degree in Welding preferred.

  • 3+ years of industrial pipe fitting and pipe welding experience.

  • Ability to obtain or maintain B31.1 and B31.3 certification (6G position, carbon & stainless steel).

  • Manual dexterity and precision control of tools and equipment.

Work Environment

The role is set in a frequently dynamic environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, and various environmental conditions. Employees may encounter fumes, airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The position requires physical activity such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, ND.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $37.00/hr.
