Summary:
The IT Security Engineer designs, builds and implements security solutions and controls to safeguard an organization's assets. They work closely with other IT professionals and teams to identify, analyze and evaluate potential security threats and develop strategies to mitigate them. The main objective of an IT Security Engineer is to ensure that the organization's data and information remain confidential, available, and secure from unauthorized access, theft, or damage. They must create and maintain security policies and procedures, conduct periodic security audits, and monitor all systems for any signs of intrusion or vulnerability. The IT Security Engineer is tasked with staying up-to-date with the latest security trends and incorporating them into their organization's security strategy. The IT Security Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the security of an organization's assets and infrastructure.
This role will have to collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure security measures are integrated into all new technology implementations. Supports incident management/response across the enterprise and provide consistent security monitoring, response, follow-up investigation, and determination of root cause. Evaluate security alerts generated by internal systems, vendors, and other industry sources.They must take a proactive approach to monitoring platforms and services, identifying and predicting problems prior to them developing into emergencies and reporting recommendations to IT Security Manager.
