Our client is currently seeking a Senior Accountant-HYBRID
Seeking a seasoned senior accountant with a good understanding and experience in booking and reviewing accruals, revenue and expenses would be ideal.

***All candidates should be CURRENTLY living in the Omaha Nebraska area***

The position is in Omaha, Nebraska.

They can work remote on Monday and Friday possible (hybrid position) but in the short term they will need to come into the office to train.

Job Responsibilities:

1) Review of cash applications performed by GenPact and posting of batches. Including AR, AP and other payables like sales tax, accruals, etc.

2) Sales tax reporting for taxes collected and to be paid. Florida branches collect sales tax, product collects GST/HST taxes. All sales need reporting for incorporation into monthly, quarterly, annual sales tax reporting by Icorporate. Specific reports prepared for Florida, California, Virginia, and Canada detailing sales tax jurisdictions including city and state.

3) Branch accounting for four different sets of reports from four different systems must be reconciled and summary entries made in the GL to record sales activity at month-end.

b. Reconciliation and roll-forward of AR for all four to ensure all cash and sales are accounted for.

c. Reconciliation and roll-forward of inventory to ensure all COGS and purchases are accounted for.

d. Calculation of commissions for California contractors for submission to and payment by accounts payable and accruals at month-end for unpaid but earned commissions.

e. To provide required management reporting branches are billed intercompany and intercompany must the reconciled and cleared at month-end with any interco profit eliminated.

4) Review of and booking of accrued recurring revenues at month-end from the Recurring Billing App (RBA) in D365 including accruals for any branch activity.

iv. Book out sales taxes paid to clear payable accounts

5) Review of all monthly general ledger entries for correct postings and reclass of any issues. This can include missing business units or departments for P&L accounts.

6) Participate in management reporting

7) Prepare internal financial reporting for VK to address management questions.

8) Close/open periods in D365 to prevent back-dating or future-dating

Job Qualifications:

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate, multi-entity, or multi-branch environment.

Strong understanding of GAAP, with hands-on experience booking and reviewing accruals, revenue, expenses, and month-end close activities.

Demonstrated experience reviewing cash applications (AR/AP) and validating batch postings, including complex payables such as accruals and sales tax liabilities.

Proficiency in sales tax reporting, including preparation of multi-jurisdictional tax schedules (e.g., Florida, California, Virginia, Canada GST/HST).

Experience reconciling branch-level accounting, including working with multiple systems to consolidate activity into GL summary entries.

AR reconciliation and roll-forwards

Inventory reconciliation and roll-forwards (COGS, purchases, variances)

Commission calculations, accruals, and AP submissions

Intercompany billing, reconciliation, and profit elimination

Proficiency with D365 (Microsoft Dynamics) and Recurring Billing App (RBA) preferred, or similar ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

Ability to review and book recurring revenue accruals, branch activity accruals, and reconcile sales tax payables.

Experience reviewing and posting monthly GL journal entries, including reclasses, error corrections, and business unit/department alignment.

Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliation templates, data modeling).

Analytical & Reporting Skills

Ability to prepare detailed internal financial reporting to address management inquiries.

Experience supporting or contributing to management reporting packages, including variance explanations and KPI analysis.

Strong ability to interpret system data, identify discrepancies, and drive accurate month-end reporting.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams (AP, AR, Tax, Branch Ops, GenPact/BPO teams).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced month-end environment.

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify process improvements and streamline reconciliations.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).

CPA or CPA-track (preferred but not required).
