POSITION SUMMARY:
ThePurchasing Specialist assists the Purchasing Manager by ensuring that everypurchase, contract, and partnership upholds the highest standards ofstewardship and compliance. Works closely with Telamon staff to safeguard theintegrity, timeliness, and completeness of all equipment and supplyacquisitions, as well as assists with Request for Proposal (RFP) processes.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviewpurchase requisitions to ensure that coding, funding, approvals, bid thresholdsand vendor selections are in compliance with Telamon requirements.
2. Searchfor vendors and review vendor performance as needed.
3. Maintainrelationships with vendors to help with purchasing needs and resolve issues.
4. Lookfor ways to save costs within the organization by making sure all costs arereasonable and necessary.
5. Maintenanceand accumulation of source data for reporting purposes.
6. Assistinquiries related to documentation needed by Accounts Payable to preparechecks.
7. Assistswith the preparation and evaluation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
8. Assistin maintaining the vendor list by using (SAMS) to check for debarred orsuspended vendors.
9. Ensurecompliance with approved policies, procedures, and applicable grant/contractregulations.
10. Assistwith samples and documentation for the external auditors.
11. Assistswith the training of Telamon staff on systems, policies and procedures.
12. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Educationand Experience Requirements:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Financeor related fields required.
• A equivalent combination of education andexperience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
• Three years of Purchasing experience.
• Federal Grant and Uniform Guidanceexperience highly desired.
• Strong understanding of accountingprinciples.
Skillsand Abilities:
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently ina fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively withothers (both orally and in writing).
• Strong customer service and problem-solvingskills.
• Strong math skills.
• Mathematical reasoning.
• Strong Excel and financial managementsoftware skills.

Positionsthat Require Driving:
• Telamon Corporation / TRC employees thatare required to drive a personal vehicle for work-related duties are to meetthe auto insurance liability requirement. The minimum limits required are$100,000 each person bodily injury, $300,000 each accident bodily injury and$50,000 property damage. The insuranceliability requirement covers use of an employee's personal vehicle.
• Telamon Corporation/TRC employees thatdrive a company-owned/rental vehicle must maintain a satisfactory annual motorvehicle record check.
• Must have own transportation, a validdriver's license, and vehicle insurance.
