Quality Assurance Inspector

Work Location: Grand Forks, ND (Grand Forks AFB)

Salary: Based on experience; discussed during the interview.

Requirements: Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections throughout all phases of construction to ensure adherence to schedules, specifications, and shop drawings. Proactively identify issues, suggest improvements, and assess the need for contract modifications.
  • Complete daily site reports in RMS, documenting progress, work activities, safety concerns, and subcontractor performance.
  • Assist with the contract modification process, including preparing scopes of work for RFPs, developing government estimates, reviewing contractor proposals, and preparing documentation.
  • Evaluate contractor plans and technical submittals for approval, including progress schedules, environmental, safety, and quality control programs, certifications, and shop drawings.
  • Draft correspondence related to contractor performance, Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other technical matters.
  • Prepare partial and final payment estimates by measuring and computing pay item quantities, verifying materials on site, and assessing the completion percentage of lump sum items.
  • Monitor the progress of all construction activities, promptly advising the Resident Engineer, COR, and project team of any potential delays or slippage in schedules.
  • Participate in and execute RFI and submittal reviews, collaborating with designers, REs, and technical experts to formulate responses.
  • Maintain logs and data to support project management and informed decision-making.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED; a degree related to construction is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in large, complex multimillion-dollar federal projects, specifically within the Department of Defense or USACE, preferred.
  • Familiarity with RMS 3.0 is advantageous.
  • Experience with three-phase inspection processes.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and the EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual is preferred.
