Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Description

In this role, you will work both in the shop and in the field to service industrial trucks. You will primarily work on cranes and other heavy equipment, utilizing your expertise in hydraulics and electrical systems. The job involves diagnosing issues using diagnostic tools and performing necessary repairs and maintenance. While some welding experience is beneficial, it is not required to start.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics on industrial trucks to identify problems.

  • Repair and maintain hydraulic and electrical systems.

  • Work on connectors and compressors as necessary.

  • Repair hoses, work on aerials, replace booms, and work on pivots in the shop.

  • Transition to field service roles for on-the-fly repairs on hydraulics and electrical systems after gaining experience in the shop.

  • Travel to surrounding states for field service work, potentially from Monday to Friday.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in electrical and hydraulic systems.

  • Experience with crane service and repair.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

  • Skills in troubleshooting, wiring, and assembly.

  • Familiarity with pneumatics and electronics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Crane inspection experience.

  • Competence with hand tools.

  • Fabrication and welding skills are a plus.

  • Must be comfortable working on feet for the entire shift.

  • Ability to work in tight spaces.

  • Willingness to travel for field service.

Work Environment

You will work in both a shop environment and in the field. Shop hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility for family commitments. Field service roles may involve travel and being away from home during the week. The work involves hands-on repairs and troubleshooting, often requiring work in tight spaces.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fargo, ND.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
