Job Description
About The Role
The Buyer is responsible for procuring material and components necessary to support daily production at multiple facilities. The Buyer develops and manages a supply base which consistently delivers the material and component requirements for the company. The Buyer drives improvements in supplier performance on availability, quality, and cost.
Responsibilities
- Issue Purchase Orders for materials, maintenance, and operational supplies as defined by MRP Recommendations and Shop notifications.
- Monitor the Expedite, Defer, and open Purchase Order reports to ensure component availability.
- Utilize business systems in all aspects of material/service management to ensure material availability.
- Establish and manage pricing, delivery, and quality expectations with suppliers.
- Promote and support inventory management improvements on accuracy and turns.
- Notify leadership of any supply chain risks or concerns related to supplier performance.
- Perform additional tasks outlined by Director of Sourcing, based on business requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
