Assistant Controller
Denver, Colorado (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite / 2 Remote)
Base Salary: $140,000 - $150,000 + 21-25% Bonus

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a high-impact Assistant Controller to support financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvements across the accounting function. This role will partner closely with FP&A, audit, and operational teams while helping scale the accounting function and support business growth.
This is a great opportunity for someone coming out of public accounting or already in industry who is looking to step into a leadership role with strong visibility and growth potential.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $140K - $150K
Bonus: 21-25%
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger activity and ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
• Support and help improve the month-end close process, including timelines and reporting quality
• Prepare and review internal and external financial reporting
• Strengthen internal controls and support SOX compliance efforts
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Audit, and operational teams
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and efficiencies
• Support audits and regulatory reporting requirements
• Lead, mentor, and develop a growing accounting team

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• CPA preferred; public accounting background is a plus
• Experience with general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and SOX
• Proven ability to improve processes and drive efficiencies
• Experience working cross-functionally with business partners
• Prior leadership or mentorship experience (1-2+ years)
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
